Uconnect will not work with the 07 model, not sure about the 08, but will work with the 09 & 10.

You need to buy the correct module and have it activated by a dealer.

Easiest way to find out if your car is UConnect compatible - press one of the UConnect buttons. If it says Uconnect not Available, forget it, it's not going to work. If it says Uconnect not connected, then you just need to get the module installed.

G'day Itchy.

I have asked 2 Chysler Dealers about Uconnect for the JK.
The answer was it does not work with the stanard out of the box sound unit etc. I have the 09 JK model.

I will be dropping the car of to Brighton Tuesday, so I will ask the question there and see what happens.

From what I have been told is that there is an upgraded of the sound system that will work. Sorry, but I do not know he full details.

I bought my JK at the end of 2009 and the dealer installed a mygig system. The service department connected the uconnect handsfree system at installation. The dealer didnt realise the workshop had conected this at the time.

I later rang the dealer, as I was lead to believe this was not to be connected and he informed me the Uconnect system is not approved in any convertable due to the sound quality when to roof is down!!!!

I also have a parrot system installed and I have compare to two. My opinion is the uconnect system is great! Handsdown over the parrot system. The parrot system does work well but the uconnect system is perfect.

Nope. UConnect Not Available means that UConnect is not available for this year model. Doesn't matter what stereo. What matters is the VIN. If you can convince a dealer to change that in the computer, you're right to go

The whole thing is controlled by the CANBUS. If it says that you can't have it, you can't have it. Buy a parrot instead.

Or do what I do - turn the phone off when you're in the car
