Having lost some of my proiferal vision in one eye due to Glaucoma, over a 12 month period I had to adjust my driving habits to suit, I have to be much more paranoid about checking everything, turning my head completely everytime as I can't trust myself to see somethings anymore, and it's scary how often in low light conditions, dusk/rain/fog people on pushbikes in dark clothes or black & silver/grey cars become practically invisible to me because they don't have their lights on. I have to avoid driving at these times, when it's actually dark it's ok till I find the occassional idiot driving a midnight with no lights on.
And the scary thing is there are people with a lot worse eye problems than me legally allowed to drive, my bad eye can pass a Licence eye test, if I didn't have my good one I would hand my licence in. I also imagine even people wearing glasses must lose some vision to some degree. So I have my lights on anytime it's not bright & sunny or driving out of my area, hopefully people will see me if I don't see them. It makes offroading for me more difficult as I can't see much in 3D anymore.
Glaucoma is bad it's gradual loss of vision, by the time you notice it the damage is irreversable, it's not fixable at all, glasses don't help, but can be stopped by eyedrops twice a day, if in doubt get them checked NOW because being blind would be nearly the worst disability in my book.
