The Rubi rockk rails themselves are ok BUT the mounts are not to the same standard. Also they mount to the body which definately isnt a good idea for heavy impacts.

However they arent like the park benches some carry around so they dont get snagged or hung up easily.

Theres a pretty heavy duty plate covering the Swaybar release system and a plate over the fuel tank, and one under the tansfer case.
The Rock Rails have benn great fo me certainly saved me some damage and haven't bent yet, if they are light duty, I wonder what the factory sidesteps are?
I suspect if you are droping onto boulders hard enough to bend them you are driving too hard or really doing extreme stuff that no factory product is going to protect you from anyway.

Fuel tank and transfer case plates are standard on all JK's, so no different, other than the swaybar motor plate which we don't need, the factory steps are quite strong (given they are plastic) I have dropped onto them a couple of times and rubbed them on rocks and trees and haven't broken one yet, alltho it's only a mater of time.

Thanks for all the feedback, a few minutes after posting this I did get the information needed from the Jeep website, missed it the first time.

Leaning towards the 2door, rubicon model. 3inch lift and 35's.

Thanks heaps for the comments.

I hope you know a good motor engineer to get it approved ok, otherwise the boys in blue are going to be a problem as well as insurance, well, good luck with insurance even with an engineering ticket, there's not many companies that will touch it.

Same with most modified 4bys though, it was hard to get my modifed patrol insured even with an engerneering certicate because im under 24. In the end it was all sorted but its expensive and the excess if I ever need to use it is also pretty damn high.
