Default lol, the guy running Project JK is having a fight with chrysler on warranty.....

a bit lengthy to read, but none the less interesting..

http://www.jk-forum.com/showthread.p...Lift-Your-Jeep

according to him, "Long story short, I was told that it’s Chrysler’s policy to have dealerships immediately flag any and all Jeeps that comes in and can be identified as having been modified. Apparently, this scarlet letter is placed on your VIN as a way to help all dealerships know that your Jeep needs to be reviewed prior to having any warranty work performed as the part you are hoping to have fixed or replaced most likely failed due to those modifications. I specifically asked and have confirmed that this would apply to ANY lifted Jeep regardless of height or even if the lift in question was a Mopar kit. Yes, you heard right, even a Mopar kit installed by a dealership is supposed to be flagged."..

Is this how they think they will return to profitability? LOL, although I would expect it of Chrysler Jeep Australia.

If they flag the Mopar kits as well it helps to capture the data and make product improvement.

Sounds to me like he was being a PITA to the original dealer. So he got put on the correct procedure roller coaster. Sugar works better then salt.

this guy is a knob end .

it will be in his warranty contract that jeep reserve the right to deny warranty
if he alters or modifies the car they have every right to flag it on there system .

I think he did bignote himself... could be wrong, but I am sure I read a while back that he did tell click who he was and about his sites... as already stated, sugar attracts more bees than salt (or soemthing like that)...

Regardless... its certainly interesting that Jeep treat is customers like that... I love my jeep, but sounds like they dont love thier customers.

going by the experiences of long term and some short term owners, this kind of thing is pretty much standard chrysler policy. nothing out of the ordinary here. warranty work costs chrysler money in parts and labour payments to the dealers, and the dealers lose money in busy workshops by doing warranty work at a reduced price for chrysler. neither the dealer nor chrysler wants to get involved if they can avoid it. this thread could open the flood gates of a thousand such complaints from owners here in australia.
