Finally replaced the oil filter housing seals today. A lot of fiddling around with a T60 bit, two 10mm spanners and a rhs square section piece of steel over them to loosen off the bolt. Once it released it was a simple quick job. THen I gave the engine a degrease - I think the seals on the housing were the only culprit, but we'll soon see.
Then got the engine to operating temp, quick oil and oil filter change (with a ice cube in a zip lock bag on the oil filler cap so it would cool enough to open).
Then I replaced my broken power aerial (the motor worked, just the mast wasn't connected to anything. Radio reception was pretty crap) with a good used one (although why the guy I bought it from couldn't disconnect the wires at the connector rather than cutting them is beyond me).
I've been buffing up the Patriot Blue paint as well, and it's starting to come up nicely. It hasn't had a polish for a while so using an orbital buffer and Menzerna polishes it is really helping it get its gleam back. I've noticed lot of orange peel in the factory paint with these things...
