Default Rear main seal

HI ALL ..well I just had the pleasure of changing the rear main seal in my 99 sport...Didnt go to badly ..but ya gotta jack it up heaps to get the sump out!!!! IM gonna make a frame up that bolts onto the front bullbar/bumper mounts. so I can just jack it up from the front until the wheels are off the ground! To get the sump out I had to use 2 trolley jacks 1 on each side just behind the lower control arms {i used a block of wood between jack and chassis to spread the load}..Ive got just about everything out of the way at the moment Radiator,Aircon pump.Power steering pump,Front bumper,Fan ,Starter ,Swaybar..Etc Makes everything easier...There is an exhaust leak under the intake somewhere..so all thats gotta come off too...Might as well do the welsh plugs as well !Where Does It End...Thats what I did with my jeep today

It's a horrible job, my top half of the RMS was so packed up with deposits that it was jammed in there pretty tight, ended up making a minor mark on the crank shaft, tried to smooth it out before reinstalling everything...

Lasted about 2 months now it leaks more than it did before.

Did you oil your seal before installing it?

If so, are you sure the new leak is from your seal?

Must say I'm a little confused. When I removed my sump all I did was undo the lower arms , shocks and jack it up....... Why would you need to remove rad and all that other stuff as its not in the way???????????

Regards A
