Default Soot Oven Burn Times

Did a Data dump via Alpha OBD and found my DPF burns seem to have gone from the average 120 -160km timings to 300km , same burn duration of 6 mins and 600deg, the only thing different is adding Fuel Doctor to the tank for the last few weeks............ be interesting to see if this continues as have only burnt about 400 lts of fuel since started adding it................

Drover,
Does the data show at what coolant temperature a burn is initiated?

Not that I have seen but I have noticed by the odometer reading that it has happened around town when the coolant would be in the 80's but all burns seem to be of the 6 -10 min duration at 600 - 640 odd deg ................. I think the shortest time between burns that I have noticed was about 80 km, when we had visitors and were showing them houses and we just tootling around town and there was a pong when we pulled up at home so did a data read.. Normal driving is around town with about a weekly 120km or more round trip.... I normally will download the data before a service....out of 500 odd burns it shows I have only shut down the engine once during a burn.
It doesn't give lots of details of an actual burn just averages and temp/ duration and an odometer reading of last burn........will be interesting to see whats what next time I have a look to see if this snake oil fluid increases the time between burns or if just one of those things... only using it to give the fuel a bit of extra lube.

Dirtier fuel = dirtier DPF, so it could just be that the Fuel Doctor is doing as it says on the tin. Maybe it isn't 100% snake oil after all

Could be right, it certainly could be ................ this was the sate of the fuel filter when I bought it after its 40K km service, so maybe I should have chucked in some Fuel Doctor or other juice back then as it was the original filter and wasn't changed per the Jeep schedule............. see how it all goes in a month or so.............. I have also chucked some in the vans diesel heater..... then again I have changed oil brand awhile ago so it might be helping as well, never know....

Due for a service soon so be interesting to see if the filter is any cruddier than usual later 10K km, usuallly just a grey sort of colour.

Yeah I can't imagine poor filtration would've helped. I change mine at every 10k, but it definitely still comes out quite black (not sure it's that black though). I'd keep going with the fuel doctor for a bit to help clear it up. As I said, a burn every ~300km is pretty bang on from what I've seen around the place.
