Unhappy Long arm kit and a busted rear main :(

Howdy all,

Today i noticed my rear main seal is gone it had been weeping the slightest amount like i could only tell because there was a darker patch of dust around the bell housing, took it for its first long drive (from Bundaberg) down to JAD and now shes DRIPPING quite badly .

The question i have is, is it just a normal gear box out then pop the seal out or is there other things in front of the seal? and because i have a long arm kit how big of a job is it going to be?

Whats the normal going rate for a job like this to be done in a shop and what would it be with my long arm kit?

Any help or advice would be great thanks jeepers

Long arm makes no difference for a RMOS since you don't need to pull the trnsmission.
The extra height should make it easier to get the sump off, then the seal is a 2 peice jobbie and very easy to change.
Maybe an hours work?

Thanks for the reply wooders, So the transmission doesnt even have to come off to do a rear main seal on a jeep?? wow they really are strange wonders of the automotive world haha, could you link me or pm or something the process of how to replace a rear main in one of these?

Also you wouldn't happen to stock the parts needed for this job would you?

Cheers Longy
