i want my to swing out carrier on the drivers side for the ease of access and visibility when overtaking and reverse parking.
my question is
is there any danger when parked and standing with boot and swing open for a vehicle to clip the spare tyre slamming the swing shut and ruining my new t-shirt

is there a right or wrong way to mount the swing out in australia?

maybe if it swings out further so if the above scenario happens it will follow the impact and travel down the drivers side.
either way it just seems like a big pair of scissors
