Default Idle revs drop when in Drive

2011 3.6 Limited, no tune, aftermarket exhaust.

G’day fellas, the engine idles very smoothly at 700rpm in Neutral but drops to a rough 500rpm in Drive.

Any ideas for a fix? Thanks!

Could be any number of issues like anything from a small vacuum leak or to a dirty airflow sensor, or possibly even a leaky air duct from the airfilter to the throttle body or even a leaky brake booster. Do a visual inspection for any obvious faults. A good scan tool could be usefully to read a few sensor outputs like AIT, Idle airflow etc.

The adaptive control in the gearbox, u can reset it with a scan tool. Applies to the W5A580 box normally but I don’t know what box is in the 3.6 however as the gearbox controls the idle speed in mine (MY13) then I am sure Jeep have the same software in your year model, worth a try
