Looks like a nice Jeep mate. What transmission/engine combo does it have? If its manual it will have 3.21 diffs, in which case most people would say 32" tyres would be the max you'd want to go. If its auto you'll have more flexibility in the drivetrain and slightly lower ratio diffs and 285s would be much more doable.

I never found the stock Silent Armours to be too bad (only had mine on for 10,000kms though). I changed to MTZs which are just coming to the end of their life now (got >75,000kms out of them including plenty of offroading so pretty stoked), and I'll throw the old Silent Armours back on and give them another go. Should be an interesting comparo!

It's the 3.8l 6sp manual. My mate who own's a lifted 09 2dr has an auto, and reckons I'm silly for getting a manual, but this one was hard to pass up and I've owned a manual 4WD before, so it doesn't bother me too much.

I'm just a bit concerned that the stockies might look a little small with a 2.5" lift, but I've yet to see it in person so I might think it's ok.

I'm located in midwest WA, and 95% of my 4WD'ing is on dunes or the beach, so I'm not looking for huge mud-terrain tyres or anything like that.

I found the stock tyres too small for the beach, they just don't bag enough for my liking.

Can't quite remember, but I think I had 285's on my old Hilux Surf. The stockies before that were like cheese cutters. Made a huge difference when I put bigger boots on.

Hi, I don't know if Donnellans have an outlet in South of Sydney but best price so far is $395 for 385/70/17 (33" ?) was from them in Prahran store. Sounds good for the 4 rib? Anyone found better?
