Mythbusters for the moronic masses but lying with statistics’ a top read eh.
Particle Reynolds number would be a more useful comparison for comparing the projectiles, but that would require an understanding of fluid mechanics.
With regard to Mythbusters, not ever a mention of dimensional analysis for their experimentation.

Common really? More useful to who? This is a jeep forum on a side tracked topic and you think it more suitable to discuss fluid mechanics. The question was asked regarding the energy of the two projectiles. That is the answer they got. Particle Reynolds number would require far too many variables such as time of day, temp weather. And to what avail? We would still be left with an enormous contrast.

Now regarding Mythbusters the target audience is the average person not the scientific community. The vast majority of people want information in a form they can understand or it’s useless to them. Furthermore they don’t want to watch a bunch of mathematicians in a room crunching numbers.

More like Hijacked topic. Some of you boys seem determined to show us your Trigonometry, Algebra and Abstract nonsense (A maths term. Nice hey. I can google).

The original, thought provoking and interesting topic was what we thought about civilian owned firearms. Not The mathematical science of firearms 101.

I suspect we passed wankfest a while ago and at pace. We are now well in to circlejerk for nerds. On the upside, it's still entertaining... Once you skip the nerdy bits.

True. I guess thats the dynamic nature of a discusson. I just like answering questions. But as I said you are right. I will ensure to keep the technical side of things off AJOR in future.
