While your tyres didn't help you, I think partly technique is an issue also, you are rolling into the power just as you hit the wallowed out part of the rock at the bottom. Watch the jku video again rev's don't change all the way up

Try idling up there or put on just a few rev's but lock your foot against the side of the tub so it resists movement a bit

I have seen old time driving instructors put a sponge under the accelerator when teaching new guys to drive off road. The absolute minimum revs to get to the top is the trick for big smooth rocks like that

Can't help myself - got to bring up the 'low range' issue again.

I keep coming back to this because a few months ago I tried driving up the same rock in high range (by mistake) and had the same result as Zen.
So, rolled back down, engaged low range and drove up easy as.

lol everyone has some valid points eh?

I think your tyres are fine mate, there certinaley no worse then the stock ones, so that's something..... if you cant find someone to patch, let me know, I do know someone who can get the patches...

think it should be Ok on the back..wouldnt put it on the front tho. IMO just buy the 1x and then put your rear right as the spare, and the now left hand rear stays and the new on the rear right.

Coopers are not that bad, there is certinaly a big, big following for them.
I was quite happy with my New Yoko's tho..

funny how well cooper market there product.

no one who actually wheels has anything good to say about them, they are the only tyre you hear about being continually criztised by a huge % of 4x4 owners.

yet people keep buying them, nice work coopers.

i heard the other day that,
In the states, (i think where they are made- they are a budget tyre, which people only by if they cant afford anything else, and in Aus, they have manage to market them as a quailty product with higher price tags.
great business model actually.

I gave my Coopers away and still felt guilty.

Yep seems no one likes the coopers, shame as they are killer in the soft sand & I didn't actually have any problems in the mud all day with em...

Just that rock, which brings me back to Wes comment & maybe there is more going on (with 4WD system) than just the Coopers!!

Either way I really appreciate all the input from everyone, would be lost with out this forum

I'm going to bite the bullet & grab 1x Cooper to balance out running the new tread spare... Then head back to the rock & test the rest!!! Wish me luck...
