Never found the proximity key a real issue, mine only seems to have a couple of metres range at the most, sometimes needs to be even closer.

When I picked up my GC from the dealer, he left it running. I signed over the Wrangler's rego papers, shook his hand and he walked off.

I got in, put my seatbelt on and a message flashed up on the dash "Key fob no longer in vehicle"

He's walked off with the fobs in his pocket. Thank Christ the Jeep told me, I was about to drove the 40 minutes home without them.

I've never had problems camping, but have read stories of shit going missing from car's while people are asleep.
Next step,Off-road Animal front bar, with nudge and recovery hooks. Then to find some skid plates, a few a being wrecked nearby so hopefully I can get them cheap, I did the same with the WJ, 10 bucks or something.
Then tyres, these low profile SUV tyres will be useless off-road, a local mob has 265/50/20 aggressive all terrains for 170 each. Then I need to sort out rear storage, compressor and second battery.

It was a shock to put 30 bucks worth of diesel in last night to give me a range of 300km, that would barely get me 100k's in the WJ 😁

What brand of all-terrains are they? Would be interested.

Keep an eye out for someone selling their later model GC 18"s. That's what I've got on mine. It opens up more off road tyre choices.

Mine are fitted with Cooper ST Maxxs and I have to admit I'm not a fan of them so far. For an All Terrain, they are nosier than the aggressive muddies I had on the JK. These things drone at all speeds. At least the MT's didn't become noisy until 80ks and up.

I had Cooper ST’s on my old GQ Patrol. Worst thing I ever bought. Lugs were getting ripped off them the first time I went out to have some fun. Thought that with the warranty on them (80,000km’s) that all would be good. But no. Warranty stated that it was only good if you were city driving. Lasted me just on 7,000km’s before they were stuffed. Noisy as buggary (for an A/T) and totally useless. I personally would never by a Cooper again.

I had the stock standard JK rims and tyres on my WJ for years, they took tons of abuse. On the same tracks my mates Prado with Cooper's, had punctures and one a few years back had total failure, ripped itself around the whole sidewall, like it unzipped itself.

Pity the JK rims don't fit on the WK2, someone's selling a set nearby, brand new

Hi Grippy, standard 18" JK rims do fit on the WK2. I had a set on mine and had no rubbing issues with the front brake calipers. I'd suggest trial fitting both in the front to make sure you have no issues as some report rubbing issues.
