What wiper blades

[TR Laredo]

For my Jan 15 build Laredo I go to Autobarn & get Trico TRJ 710-20 (8.5 x 700) refills on the front wipers (re using the stainless steel support strips) & a cut down Trico TTR 610-20 on the rear wiper ( re using the stainless steel support strips).

Thats what I have pencilled in my Jeep Book as possible replacements after browsing a catalogue, just hadn't confirmed anything ... Too date mine are actually still original, 130K km, been through dirt, ice and lots of rain and bugs, but getting near to needing replacing the odd streaky bit during this last lot of rain.... over the years I have found giving the blades a wipe down when washing the windscreen getting rid of the dirt and bug splats certainly seems extends their life....

These are the exact ones I'm replacing - they've been on the vehicle for about 18mo. I was never 100% happy with them, as they never seemed to give a clean wipe, but did the trick up until about 6mo. ago when they first started to get noisy and 'skip' across the windscreen.

Ive tried a few, Bosch aero are the best.
I saw the local jeep dealers using them in their spare parts area as replacements .

Welp, blades arrived and installed them today - all I can say is beautiful, beautiful silence.

Clear the water well with no ‘cobwebs’ too. Bring on the cyclone!

A few years ago I got for free from some place a wiper rejuvenator. its a metal/plastic box thats yellow & gold with black writing, it has a few slits along it. You put the blade in the slit & run it along the blade. It looks like it has some sort of abrasive in the bottom of the slits. The device squares up the edge of the blade & so it wipes clear again. Was surprising how well it worked. Have used it 6 or so times in the last few years. One of the blades has now stared to fall to pieces so will be replacing them soon.

Lots and lots of water this month so far, wiper blades giving a bit of shuddering, 120km round trip to shop so not looked forward to, so like my Hi-Lux ute I pulled the blades out and reversed them, usually gives them a few more years of life but then depends on the weather doesn't it... each time I clean the screen I always wipe the blades down, old habit.
