Take it to DBOR..... they usually will have a quick look at this sort of stuff and will give you an opinion.

Sometimes 10 minutes with someone who knows JK's is worth a day at a stealer.

Installing 4 springs, Shocks and drop brackets is not nuclear physics..... There is little chance a decent mechanic will stuff it up..... As MightyMouse said its their way of saying screw you....

the shocks are hitting on the chassis rail at the front it is common with that kit get a track bar and recentre the axle

OK, just to close this off, I found the culprit. It was the recovery hitch knocking around in the receiver. I've wrapped it with silicone tape whilst still leaving a gap to easily pull it out if need be and went wheeling a couple of times since and it's been all good. In hindsight, that's the first thing I should have looked at.
