Default JK 2012 Transmission, T/C and Diffs Breather Extensions

I thought I'd combine the two posts I had written previously and place them in one location for anyone interested in extending their breathers.

JK 2012 Manual Transmission, Transfer Case and Differentials Breather Extensions Write-Up:

Materials/tools required:
1. Piranha Offroad Differential Extension Kit
2. Two additional filters for the T/Case and Transmission
3. Scissors
4. Box cutter
5. Lube
6. 6mm Elbow
7. Rescue tape
8. RTV gasket
9. Cable ties
10. Aluminium foil
11. Duct tape
12. Various tools from toolbox

Front differential:
1. Pull existing hose located behind passenger side plastic wheel guard. It is secured by one metal clip.
2. Remove existing plastic breather, slide in new hose into existing (tight fit so lube comes in handy) and clamp using cable tie or similar.
3. Route hose into engine bay to a suitable location.
4. Cut to length and attach new filter.
5. Secure new hose with cable ties at suitable locations.

Rear differential:
1. Pull existing hose from behing driver's side wheel guard. It is secured by one plastic clip.
2. Remove left tail light on driver's side and disconnect wiring harness (Only 2 screws on the left need to be removed).
3. Remove existing breather, slide in new hose into existing and clamp using cable tie.
4. Route hose into cavity behing tail light.
5. Cut to length and attach new filter.
6. Secure new hose with cable ties at suitable location.

Transfer Case:
1. Pull existing hose from plastic clamp located near existing breather (green cap near firewall behind engine). You may have to lie on top of the engine to reach it.
2. Crawl under the JK and remove existing breather, slide in new hose into existing and clamp using cable tie.
3. Route hose using original route and into the engine bay to a suitable location.
4. Cut to length and attach new filter.
5. Secure new hose with cable ties.

Manual transmission:
1. Pull out shifter boots and front section of console.
2. Remove shifter secured by one screw.
3. Remove part of the foam around breather.
4. Pull out black plastic cap from breather.
5. Wrap rescue tape around elbow and push into breather hole ensuring a tight fit. Alternative is to apply RTV on elbow and place in breather but I preferred not to do
so in case I ended up blocking the hole with the RTV.
6. Crawl underneath JK and push tubing into other end of elbow (some lube on the elbow helped).
7. Feed other end into engine bay, cut to length, insert filter and secure to firewall.
8. Apply some RTV around breather/elbow joint to ensure good seal.
9. Place some Aluminium foil over hole left in foam and cover with duct tape.
10. Reinstall shifter boots, shifter and console.
11. Allow RTV to fully cure (24 hours).

Note: I initially bought some 1/4" fuel hose and vacuum connectors but then decided to use the kit from Piranha Offfoad instead because everything I needed was
included in the kit and their supplied hose is much easier to work with than the 1/4" fuel hose.
