Doors? Coz it's cold down here in Mexico at the mo'. It's either doors or so many layers of clothing you get about looking like the Michelin Man...

If you do want to go the TJ half doors there would be one other thing I'd check first before committing your cash.

It's straightforward getting an upper door to fit the YJ 1/2 doors because the shape of the "upperworks" is basically the same for both CJ and YJ. So all you need to buy from Bestop is an upper to suit a YJ with a Supertop.

However, TJs have a different windscreen rake \\ angle and door height, designed to work with the boomerang thingamybobs TJs have around the soft door. TJ uppers, whether OEM or Bestop, might not fit properly even after some bending. You want a tight, flush fit or they'll drive you nuts flapping out from the frame every time you drive at speed.

Maybe the YJ Supertop uppers would drop into the locating holes in a TJ half door but I've never tried it. So you need to check that the pins for the upper are in the same place for both TJ and YJ, so you can use a YJ Supertop upper on TJ doors. I'd be surprised if they were in different spots but you never know.

The uppers from the Bestop full soft doors won't fit either option as the pins are completely in the wrong places.

EvilBay. Where most of my money goes....

I think they cost me $US275 plus $US50 postage in the States to a shipper ($A80). You could probably get a set cheaper, but these ones were mint - all locks and latches working, with keys, door seals and no dints or rust at all.

I then had them painted (they were black) which cost me another $400, but it was a first rate job.

Can't remember what the stainless hinges cost but they're a YJ (not CJ) set, to match the shape of the top of the door.

There's a spray can product for vinyl trim that is a very close match to Nutmeg - these trims were light brown.

A bit of disassembly / reassembly and bob's your auntie.
