Default XJ Fuel Pump Feeding Lexus V8?

Hey im trying to get my head around this,
The xj fuel pump/tank has no return line because the pump has built in regulator, but.. the lexus motor has a feed and return line because it normally has an external regulator?
Can anyone help? Im wondering if i can just block the return line and everything will work fine? or maybe plumb the return back into the feed line?
Im not 100% on fuel systems so any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Is there room for a swirl pot? You could use the Jeep pump to keep the swirl pot full and get an aftermarket pump for the injection.

cheers

If you are wanting to use a lexus fuel pump and external reg you may have some problems if your is 96 on. The 96 on have constant pressure at the fuel rail. I have heard of changing the injectors and fuel rail but at what cost? Maybe you can explain a little better what you are trying to acheive?

Kindest regards Anthony

If you are wanting to use the XJ pump & reg on your Lexus I think you may be throwing away money trying to make a part do what it is not designed for. You would be better to stick with your existing set up. You may be ok if you get a 95 pump and sender unit, which has a return line.

Sounds expensive haha,
I was hoping to use the xj pump/reg to feed the 1uzfe.

Would it be possible to run the fuel rail return back into the tank via the filler neck? or is this going to cause problems with the constant pressure in the rail?

Sounds like i might have to get external pump and reg and have xj pump feeding a surge tank then external pump/reg feeding fuel rail then return back into surge tank??
