I'm not in South Brisbane, but in the southern suburbs - a little closer to Somerset. I'm kitted out for soldering with a soldering station. I prefer to use the one I'm familiar with. A quality temperature controlled iron makes a world of difference.
What I'll need is clear instructions on what needs to be done. I've not researched playing with the TCM, but I have had mine apart for a clean and lacquer albeit 4 or 5 years ago.
If you want to buy anything, a small can of circuit board lacquer to seal it up after soldering is advisable. The likes of Jaycar have it. Normal lacquer is no good. Circuit board lacquer evaporates with heat to allow soldering through it.
