That seems damned exxxxxy.... i got 360 V8 heads reco'd for wayyyyy less than those prices for the pair- decked, cleaned, mild porting/clean up, 3 angle valve seats, new guides, spring seat pressures all done, etc etc. Had to provide 2 sets of heads to enable them to pick the best bits (springs/valves/collets etc).

$1500- $2800 is way over top for 6 cyl head. Keep looking. $2800 is BS, you could probably bring in a brand new NOS/OEM head for less than that from US.

Where are you located?

If in Melb (or even if not) try Eddie Woods at Head Stud Developments in Moorabbin, Very well know, good rep esp in motorsports and good work at a reasonable cost. Even if you ship it there it will come in way under what you have been quoted i reckon.

Hand relief may be cheaper but its usually worth the extra $ for a good and propper full head service.

Sound spot on to me,
You can always do things on the cheap but is that what you want,
Do it properly do it once I reckon.

Cheers Paul
