Dont feel sorry for it, its getting replaced with a Saguaro Steel rear bar soon.

I actually just about destroyed the front bash plates as well, and the factory plate is so deformed it looks liek an accident victim. Was worth it though, finished in first place with enough points to put me in first place overall in the suspension stuff challenge!

G'day burnz - they are a custom system by GlenD Custom (Glen Davis - he's on this forum). Great quality. Thinks like the fridge slide are ORS. Poor Glen - I think I drove him into early retirement getting the job done!

Rest of the job was mostly CRDSTU. Awesome work & product, and a top bloke.

Battery (which is at back of cargo bay - you can see the bulge allowing for it in the pic with the main drawer open) and isolator installed by Mannell Motors. Nice guys but don't get me started on their quality of work! I had to go back 3 times to get the work fixed right. Brake controller installed by Traction4 - somehow they manged to run a wire over the top of the turbo - the wire melted and almost caught fire. Had to get their work re-routed by another mechanic - I wouldn't let them near my Jeep again with a 10' pole.

So in short - the work by the passionate jeep guys was fantastic - but any electrical work by those 2 ARB shops was disappointing to say the least - I would only ever go to a dedicated auto-electrician next time.

Default New Grand Cherokee off road

It had gone past 1000km - time to start testing out it's capabilities. I did something that I vowed never to do - take a vehicle on the beach. The beach was Bribie island at High tide. The surface was loose and lumpy. We were not able to go very fast because of bumps, and I had not driven on loose sand before. The car easily made up for my inabilities. Auto and suspension on second highest setting worked well, and away we went. We came back on a very loose and badly rutted track, and LOTH's main comment was that we were very comfortable. Son in law was impressed with the rooster tails being thrown out on tight corners. I was impressed with the way it soaked up the bumps. We did not need to take the front skirt off, and still had plenty of clearance. Down sides - only minor - I felt that the rear wheels were driving in a straight line a little too much, making it a little more difficult to turn to follow the beach ruts - that was easy to get used to , and we managed to shake loose the forward sensing device down low at the front. We will be off to see Jared to get that fixed tomorrow. All in all a very good all round car.
