Remember to lock your trailer to your car. A builder in Townsville had his trailer and all his tools stolen a few days ago in Townsville. At Bunnings ! Dropped in to buy a few bits and pieces, came out and trailer gone. Still not located.

Make your way down to Barnes Caravans , been in the buisiness and for donkey years, tell them what you intend to do and they will help you out

Thought I'd update my esperience even though it's not my thread. Pretty happy with the Network RV. A few little issue that you shouldn't expect in a new caravan but there is always something. Missing catch that I didn't find until I got home and I thought I checked every single one.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well the JGC TH performed on the trip to Wave Rock, Hyden and back, about 700km. Towed effortlessly at up to 100kph when it was appropriate to do so and heading up the scarp held 6th at about 85kph and 2200rpm, it would have went harder but that was about 25l/100km so I thought that was a reasonable balance. Slipper into 7th for cruising between 95 and 100 kph. For the whole trip, averaged 17l/100km, 23 ft van weighing in close to 3000kg. The van felt rock solid on the road as well, not much wind but plenty of rain so conditions weren't ideal.

Anyway the Network RV was what I expected, a simple van in the layout I wanted that has offroad suspension, DO35 that I can add the things to that I want with a 900kg payload and plenty of storage.

About the same as mine by the sounds of it "GCRob" , overloading on the Grand is the biggest problem I reckon.

I’m picking up my MountainTrail LXV 4.7 next week from Albury. I’m wondering if anyone has some advice on tow mirrors?
I had an Avan camper a couple of years back and didn’t need any tow mirrors on the WK2 as it was only 2 metres wide. This new van is 2.1 metres wide so do you think I can get away without tow mirrors? If not, any recommendations other than the clear view? Bit to expensive for me and I am thinking more the clip on ones…. That don’t fall off hopefully!

With a 2.1 wide, you will not need tow mirrors and a bonus in my view.

Possibly not BUT since the rig is wider than the Jeep by 150mm maybe, if you can see clearly all the way down the sid eof your van/camper with your standard mirrors from your driving position which mean no leaning over or around to see, then you should be okay without them....... I use and have used the truck style which clip to window frame amd lower door, good vision, don't move and if fitted correctly do not damage the paintwork, mine are on their 3rd vehicle now and travel about 15K km a year.......

Have a read of this, explains the mirror issue very well..
