Default KL TH CV boot

Newbie here, so sorry if this has already been covered. I have a '14 KL TH with a torn D.S.F. outer cv boot. Jeep, of course, want to sell me half a car to replace this. I know there are sellers out there doing aftermarket boots but none will guarantee fit on my vehicle, even with VIN supplied. Can anyone help please? I cannot find a part number anywhere, or a guaranteed supplier. Any advice greatly appreciated!

The boots on the axles are non replaceable, you will have to buy a new or used shaft that only fits a Trailhawk, apparently they are different from other models, there is a u tube video on this. I just went through a similar exercise on my Trailhawk where the seal on the front of the tail shaft was spraying grease on the underbody, a new tail shaft is over 3K. I purchased a used one for $1400 delivered Cairns. I tried Jeep for assistance for a part that should not fail, they referred me to the dealer for them to put in a claim. The service manager said that he required the original sales invoice, and would not accept the stamped and signed log book, because I don't use the dealer for service, he required a copy of every service invoice. The reason that I don't go to the dealer is that even if I supplied oil my which met Jeep specs they would not use it. I noticed a Trailhawk being wrecked on the internet the other day. I got my tail shaft through Hammonds in Capalaba Brisbane.

Have a talk to your nearest drive shaft place to see what they suggest as they deal with these issues all the time.

On another note it looks like the Cherokee is leaving Australia

Front outer, (and inner) cv shaft boots for kl Cherokee trailhawk are pretty cheap and readily available on Ebay from various US sellers. You need to find one that ships to australia. For example,Ebay seller Autopartsupply, ebay item number 185254071486,can supply the correct outer cv boot for your trailhawk for US $17 plus US $36 international postage.Any competent(non-dealer) mechanic here in Australia should be able to fit this for you for a reasonable price. The trailhawk has factory fitted offroad suspension which uses a thicker stepped front half shaft as opposed to the straight half shaft fitted to models without the off road suspension. Thus Cv boots are different to models without the off road suspension fitted.

Thanks very much. I was fairly certain they would exist but couldn't find a supplier. Fitting is not an issue. Thanks for the rescue!!
