Default Axle seal replacement in Melbourne

Hi

My front axle seals are leaking - I don't have space or time to replace myself.

Do you know what's the best place to get them replaced? A generic transmission shop, or a Jeep specialist? I'm in the inner East. Also any idea what's a reasonable price?

Thanks!

Any competent mechanic could do this for you. Not a big job if it is only the external ones that r leaking. I had mine changed at 4x4 Solutions at 497 Grimshaw Street, St Bundoora.

I don't think there are external seals, they're inboard, inside the diff housing.

No external seals, those are just plastic covers to minimise the amount of crap getting into the tubes. The seals are in the diff housing. (Unless you buy the aftermarket ones.)

Sorry, not in Mel to give you an answer.

The seal replacement is not as straight forward as some may say. You need to find yourself a diff specialist. There have been a few on here try and damage the new seals. Its not easy installing the seals.
