Default Engine noise

Hi, I've got a three month old JK petrol that's done 4,000km. Its developed a ticking sound that seems to coming from the drivers side cylinder head. Before I take it back to the dealer I'd be interested in any thoughts about what it might be. I've heard about similar problems with earlier pentastar engines and was wondering whether there are problems with the current version.
Any advice would be appreciated.

welcome,
hard to say without hearing , what comes to mind is lash lifter, and or cam , if it is from that area
worst could be a big end journal, a possible cause is age of oil (how black looking is the oil?) from wrong grade in or not changing . how many klms has your car done ?
my wifes has done near 200,000 klms , and still runs good , oil used is a 10w 30
Castrol , and I am not saying you should use that brand or do what I do .

Its 3 months old with 4000km on it so probably hasn't even had its first oil change yet!

I thought the ticking heads had been fixed but I would take it to tje dealer to have it checked. If not happy with their answer get a good mechanic to have a quick look to get a second opinion.

if it is a v6 petrol , noise can travel without hearing it run and being able to see it could come from anywhere .
doesn't matter if 1 month old , you use wrong oil in the engine will damage it.
don't do service is a good way to clog oil pick up in a engine I have seen where service doesn't need to be done on a engine and yet there is enough carbon to clog the pick up , or where mixed oils , it only takes a little bit of dirt , and or carbon to clog up a lash adjuster/lifter. just because a noise seems to come from the top doesn't mean it is from there , could be anything from valves , chains con rods , pistons , cams , head gasket , anywhere. I have seen where people have used diff oil in a engine to top up , and then they wonder why the engine rattles , don't even know if noise gets worse when hot , or gets better ?
so I don't really care how many klms it has done. the main thing is something is wrong either from user end or factory , service , and is impossible to say where it is gone wrong ( without knowing exactly ) so there is no way in knowing until it has a full diagnostic done. too many times I have seen engines clag , break and foul up from people using wrong oils and fluids on cars.

If I've found the right label, its an AC. If it helps, the car has a July 2014 build date. The noise is definitely coming from the drivers side head area.
thanks

Normally the head with troubles, the one that chrysler has extended its warranty to 10 yrs, is the passenger.

I think the cyl # 1 is the problem child with the faulty head on the drivers side. (Misfire)

Is it running rough cold and hot??? (To get it hot bring the revs to around 3000rpm for 5 mins) Then listen / feel idle rough??

AC should be the first of the problem free heads but i think there may be a couple bad ones.

I have had AB on mine.

Hope this helps
