Default Finally upgraded!!

Well i finally bit the bullet.
Had been looking around for a lower km diesel than my 2013 my14 gc limited with 180,000km on it and had driven about 9 different gc’s over the last month.
Finally today came across a 2015 diesel limited with 50,000km, one owner, never been towed at a dealership, serviced every 10k for a decent price.
Car felt and drove like a new car.
Up side, car is like new ,looks like a family town car, down side need to get a towbar and anderson plug fitted
and possibly a nudge bar and eventually ill need to do the coolant hose at some point i guess!
My old jeep had a bull bar and all that stuff on it.
I noticed the car still had the factory air filter in it.
Hopefully ill get a few more years in diesel ownership with this one.
Change over wasn't to bad cost wise.

Looking at couple of 60000k diesels in Qld.one is a late 2015 GC limited yet only complianced in 1/17.Just got to sight services been done on months basis, obviously not ks! Huge numbers of WK diesels / petrols for sale on FB.many high ks. This hpfp recall maybe starting to effect pricing. One WK diesel owner toldme he was going to trade it on a new Subaru next week but was told yesterday by the Subaru dealer that dont bother. The dealer didnt want his WK due to the recall!

Mine was like that, regularly serviced and at 41K km still had the original fuel filters in it, schedule has it in for 40K kms which is BS, I would be changing all filters and fluids for it so you know and not trust stamps in a book and being at 50K kms I would put it into a tranny shop for a tranny service...... forget about the service schedule and it will last for decades.... I'm a 10K km air/fuel/oil filters and eng oil, Tranny + TC at 40-50K kms and diffs every 50K km, 100K I dump coolant............. I should do brake fluid at 100K km but it takes a while for me to get to it.
Sounds like a good 'un, I wouldn't be worrying about the fuel pump issue as I very much doubt it will affect us really.......

Subaru got their fingers burnt with their boxer diesels - too many DPF warranty problems from city driving so they stopped building them/bringing them to Aus.

The Dealer denying your mate the trade in is marketing bs to its highest point...just doesnt want to try n sell it....they usually just sell them to wholesalers if they dont want them on their lot...the recall for the CP4 has been happening for years...lets stop with the hype...its not a prevalent issue here...there are so many cars and machines with biult in problems that if 1 recall scared you...you'd take the bus

Im with you re fluids etc.
The coolant is clean but factory and looking a bit tired.
Ill get a new tranny pan and get the fluids done and maybe transfer case oils while im at it!!
I guess at 50,000 the original alternator will be fine for a while.
At some point in the future i guess the turbo hose will need doing
The biggest pain at the moment is getting a tow bar fitted.
I believe you need a dealer to activate the electronics in the vehicle re tge tow wiring.
Maybe a nudge bar instead of the bull bar ive currently got on my current jeep.

Not really sure about the activate bit for tow bar wiring, best to have a harness for the wiring though..... plugs in LH side rear...

My bar is a Best Bars NZ job with a Mopar badge the tongue is just above the lower edge of the rear panel, wouldn't want to be any lower or becomes a plough mine also mounts inside the for want of a better word, the chassis rails with a backing plate for bolts ....... It must be an Aussie or NZ one for compliance, .........

Nudge bar would certainly be cheaper, my ECB alloy bar is $3200 now....but at 31kg an asset.

Running Nulon in the tranny now, its very nice and very smooth at all temps and dare I say it, I think its slightly better than the Penrite ...
