Are you sure it's legal to use them here? I have the feeling when importing cars you must change the tyres to Australian ones. I could be wrong but might be worth checking up

damnit, I just put new boots on the XJ and probably could have saved a heap. Lesson learned.

I dont think any 4WD tires are made in Aust any more.
If getting prices from him helps to reduce the local tire sellers prices, its a good thing.
Imported from the USA products should be getting down to 1/2 the price they were a few years ago because of the weak US$ & their recession.
Be careful about GST. You need to keep the total price under the threshold to avoid another 10% to Wayne Swan !!

For those that have used Tirerack:

I have got a quote from Luke (thanks Luke for getting back to me so quick)

but transferring money via direct debit from bank to bank.

im just not too sure about this method of payment.

have you guys who have purchased from Tirerack used the direct bank transfer method of payment.

and just for the info of others 4x Pirelli Scorpions ATR $1267 delivered to aust.

here in Perth they want $412 each for 285/75R16.

I have seen him on a number of car sites in the USA. He is a mod on a MB site over there. May be useful to pick his brains a bit about what are good/popular tires for 4WD over there.
If any one is after a USA brand (Cooper etc) it would be interesting to see what he can come up with.
Tirerack are quite big in the USA, probably have good buying power & so can pass on very good deals.
We will have to just wait & see !!
