Watch out for GST !!

Can he do it by 2 invoices ?
Best you check on what the GST threshold is. I think its $1000 per transaction.
You may need to do 2 parcels.

Even on $1267.00 the GST will only be $126.70, saving about $254.00...then depending on the fitting & balancing the saving might not be that great.

There will also be a lack of any warranty, which may or may not be worth
much.

Cheers

I think you will find GST is only calculated on the purchase price not the freight, in my case the total invoice was over AU$1,000 however the price of the goods was below the AU$1000 so i was informed that there was no duty to be paid.

It worked out for me to be $270 per tyre to my door for BF Goodrich KM2 Mud Terrains, best quote i had received in Brisbane was over $330, as i purchased 5 for the Jeep and 3 for the trailer i saved over $480 over the quoted Australian price and was told there was an 8 week back order, Tire Rack had them delivered to me in 5 days. that was 2 separate orders, price from Tire Rack at the time was US$193 each plus freight with exchange rate from my bank transfer at $1.035, unless something changes this is the only way i will buy tyres in future.

From Memory it was bank transfer, did a little bit of internet checking and they seemed to have a lot of good reports, so i went with it took a chance on a order for 4 tyres, went so smoothly ordered the other 4, very easy to deal with, had prompt email responses to all my questions, allowing that their working day is different to ours, but overall very good to deal with and good to their word concerning shipping times and easy to follow shipping tracking.

i just got a quote from them on some tyres, the goodyear wranglers MT/R kelver in 35x12.5x15 to perth and that was for 5 of them

5 tyres cost $995.00
shipping to perth is $635.75
so the total for 5 tyres shipped was $1632.75

and someone correct me if im wrong but i think you wont have to pay any import tax because the actual items total comes to under $1000bucks

anyone know what these tyres run price range in aus?

dan

goodyear in willetton want $425 for the MT/R Kev in 285/75R16 so 33's. you can bet a 35 is going to cost more than that.

ive noticed that its better to buy a more expensive tyre from tirerack as the cheaper ones like Kuhmo you can get here for about the same price by the time you add the shipping.
