Took off the roof cage, then the roof rack rails, gave them a quick sand down and etch primer, then gloss black paint and back on. No more metal showing.

Went to work on everything that wasn't white with "forever black" from SuperCheap.

She looks a lot better.

Changed the auto fluid, tranfer case fluid and flushed the cooling system with some new green stuff and gave all the bits that need it a good dose of grease and put in a new front RH wheel bearing today. getting ready for another long road trip to Canberra this time. Hmmm might be a bit chilly for me. I really should look at the heater and fix it as I might need it now. Never used it in the past 4 years, but have really cold aircond

Replaced the sway bar D bushes last night; while the pitman arm tierod end was done by the mech in the morning.
One word of advisment don't try and do the D bushes with the bash plate still on as it is a PITA. I refused to take it back off after I put it back on only five minute before I decided to do the D bushes . Next time will suck it up and take it off .

Regards A

Got a check engine light this morning - reset it then it came back again within a few minutes.

First time it's come on after all the little issues it's had the past 3 years since I bought it.

Tried the different combinations as per gojeep's write up but none seem to work. It's a 12/97 with 98 compliance and electrical connectors - so it appears to be a 98 model year.

Anyone with other tricks to do this without a scan gauge?

I have a feeling it may be related to the CPS or O2 sensors but I want to be sure.

Weird. Just moved it a few meters and no check engine light. Been sitting for about 4 hours. Hmm, guess I really need a scan tool if nobody else has any suggestions.
