Got an updated letter today with the Trailhawk listed now too. Took them a while to work that out. Amateurs....

Picked up my car this week and due to the issues with the factory tow bars, the dealer fitted an Hayman Reese instead. So Pedders don't know jack s%$t.

Also, it is illegal for a dealer to try and charge for recall / warranty work. I would be making a complaint to fair trading about that one.

Had the factory bar on my 17 removed Tuesday by dealer. New Trailboss bar fitted by aftermarket supplier Thursday. All good so far. waiting on claim form from FCA for reimbursement of cost of factory bar. Have been in touch with FCA customer service and have been “assured” of a prompt resolution. Let’s see what happens.

This is gonna be a good one. It'll be very interesting to compare the price variation of an installed towbar when FCA are paying for it [emoji848]

Out of curiosity, was it itemised on your purchase contract?

Cheers, Steve

No not on contract but dealer has provided written statement of cost of factory bar fitting. I assume this figure ($1000) is bar only no wiring etc. which remained on car. Dealer has to forward proof of removal and disabling of bar; I have to provide contract of sale and item value statement.

Yeah a thousand is a mid-range price for the part, so a fair claim.

FCA said they will email claim form when dealer notifies them of removal and disabling of factory bar. I’ll give them a week and then start chasing. wish me luck.
