I have just installed one with reversing camera into a 2003 KJ Renegade. All is working well (no diodes required). Simply used the back up light circuit to power the camera and connected to the back up wire on the HU.
I do have one issue though. I live in South Australia. The time zone here is GMT + 9.5. When setting the time zone only full hours are available. Therefore time is out by 30 minutes. Anyone know of a solution for this

Do you remember the colour of the wires on the tailight?

Yes. I used the brown wire with a green stripe but I picked this up in the rear left pillar just below connector C 308. As I mentioned earlier I connected this to both the power wire for the camera and an additional wire on the camera video cable. This wire runs the full length of the video cable and I connected this to the backup wire on the HU.
This should be the same color in the tail lamp. According to the service manual you will find this wire on pin 4

Update on the time zone issue. I've been in touch with the seller on ebay. After explaining the problem they have emailed me a firmware update. Will flash the unit on weekend and post the results.
