Default 31/10.5/15's Baby **Update - 16's vs 15's pics

Yeah well ....Cat is out of the bag, I've gone and put 15's on the KJ.

They are "Kings" 15 x 7's with zero offsett, and I'm running 31/10.5/15's Mickey Thompson MTZ's. Very nice tyre I must say. All's good at the moment, will see how the whole thing goes on the weekend.

I agree......I AM Crazy..

Nah you're not crazy. They look good. I reckon when it comes to serious rubber, you've probably got more choice in the smaller 15" sizes than in the 16" sizes which fit the KJ.

How did you go for disc and caliper clearance?

Yes...I must admit it is close, but, it clears. Thinking I may make some kind of stone guards????? Don't exactly know how but???? Anyway thats for me to worry about later. It's the bigger side walls that I wanted, sooo much better for offroading, more give, and as I said the ride now is really superb. Cost was good too. Mickey Thompson MTZ 31/10.5/15's $250.00 ea, Coopers STT's 245/75/16's are around the $300 odd mark.

Looks awesome there cmohr.
I don't really think you'll have a problem with stones between the caliper and rim.

Sweet.

How is the onroad noise when you're going say 110kph?

When I had my Patrol I used 31x10.5R15 too, but those were BF Goodrich A/T, when going 110kph I got "some" tyre squeal.

Probably the KJ is better insulated so the noise doesn't go through as much as it did on the Patrol, so I'm interested to know what you've come up with

The MTZ's are amazingly quiet for Mud tyres with such an aggressive tread pattern, my old Coopers STT's were very noisey, honestly, these aren't that much louder than the ATZ's I use to drive on everyday, (I do say not much, but, you can hear them )
