got the flares done (finally). last one was a bastard ! dunno if the flare wasnt shaved proper or the car is bent but it wouldnt mount up straight. managed to get it acceptable after some hours of fighting it. also got the trackbar centered and the caster, pinion angle and toe/steering wheel set. still a couple of quick checks and adjustments to do. finally went for a lengthy test drive around the neighborhood and was quite satisfied after spending two weeks sorting it - only rubbing is on full lock so need to shim the steering stops. may need to trim the flares a bit after i disco it offroad but that remains to be seen. still to do: disco mudflaps, extended front brakelines, and rear bumpstops. still waiting for a rear driveshaft although the mock shaft is working beautifully (no vibes on a non cv shaft w/5.5" lift - how did that happen?). also gotta get a custom tailpipe made up once it hits the highway (hopefully tomorrow). decided to run the 35s for now so im off to order up a speedo gear! final pics to come!

im terrible at remembering what was posted up...thought u boys were going 44 in the front so forgive my speed reading ineptness...both your builds look sweet and it appears we are all doing the same thing! cant wait to see how you guys go... i was gonna go lockers and a truss on the front but time failed me. im thinking front 44 trussed and locked will be next along with a locker in the rear (arb of course). but ill wait to break something (that s/b fun ). any takers on what will go first? my money sez bent front axle or one of the unis.

I'm trussing the front but leaving it open, mostly because I may go 30 spine in the front later and I've had no lockers at all for 8 years so even 1 is a big improvement as I have a full detroit in the rear.

For flares I'm looking at the new Bushwacker flat flares, just need to wait until Wooders gets a set in so I can see if they'll be wide enough and clear the 35's

Cheers
Steve

Another wheel alignment. Also put the front drive shaft back in...

here is how i ended up with the flares yesterday...the fronts are way too narrow for the 35s so im trying a "bogan" approach today and have had some presentable success... pics to come tomorrow if im happy with the look - seems promising thus far. Steve, here is a front view pic so u can see how far out the tire sticks (remember, this is w/4.5" bs and not the usual 3.75"). i can see light at the end of the tunnel!

Looking good, just a shame those flares aren't a bit wider I'm also running the 4.5" bs so these pics give me a good idea on what's needed. So how wide are those flares?

Only thing I did today was put in the swaybar relocation bracket to drop the mounting point and move it forward, this pulled the swaybar links out of the coils

Cheers
Steve
