The flat flares have 1/2" less coverage than yours so they should just cover by the sound of it

Cheers

front flares measure 4" and the rears are @ 3-1/3". so basically 2" over the stock flares as advertised. im making up some trim from abs which is riveted to the flare lip to bring it out about 1" in the front and 1/2" in the rear...its looking pretty good so far (one side almost done). i didnt want to do this and when i started i had about 2.5" of trim on the front (looked horrible) but after shaving it down to 1" its actually added to the eye candy effect - its just looks a bit "beefier". these flares are gonna be the death of me tho

resolved the problem with the flares and 35s - added some abs plastic trim to the flare lips and decided it actually looks good like this. still doesnt completely cover the sidewall but its much, much better. at least its not a red flag any longer. disco mudflaps are next!

this is DEFINITELY an XJ thing and perfectly ordinary. keep doing it. over and over. sooner or later it wont matter. in the end you will buy more bits to fix the heap (best to order stuff after a few cold ones - takes the edge off). you wont remember the next morning anyways so dont sweat it - its just like buying diapers! this is true love but your wallet (and wife) will hate it. just ignore them and keep observing with a cold one in hand. above all, ignore ALL outside influence (or pretend not to know what happened). just my advice (it works for me)

PS - buy LOTTSA flowers and chocolates
