Default Suspension upgrade

I’m currently going to purchase a suspension kit. I’m looking for some advice on size for NSW,

I know the legal limit is 50mm and 25mm for tyres.

I guess my question is do I go 2” which is the 50mm limit or 2.5” which would sag a bit with the extra weight of bars?

I want to make sure that in the event of an accident my insurer can’t turn around and say it was illegal.

Well I went with a 2.5” kit with 33” tyres, have had accidents and not once has my insurer questioned the system...

I did say a little but not much with front and rear bar. It’ll be hard to track down an international kit quickly but Aussie made you might be in luck...

I got my first kit from Murchinsons products in qld, but have since changed components of it...

Still have their HD springs, OME shocks and stabiliser, AEV correction brackets soon to be changed out with new control arms...

I have a synergy dampener relocation bracket, free to a goo home if you want it...

Iooks like I’m going with my original plan and getting the 2.5” lift.

Looking at the terraflex full upgrade kit, with rpm drag link kit.

Good luck getting parts anytime soon, prepare for a while... have a chat to the suppliers and get some feedback... the other JK forums particularly out of the states have plenty of reviews and feedback on the Terraflex gear...

Also if you are changing tie rod and drag link ect ensure that they’ll clear factory wheels or the wheels you have on....

Along the same lines , I am looking to upgrade the suspension on my08 CRD Unlimited. I've been running the Teraflex levelling kit for a few years now and 33's are the norm. It doesnt have a bar now but will have a fairly heavy front bar shortly. No winch though. I'm so used to seeing the 2" puck/packer lift at the front now, I'd be keen to see a little more if I can do it without rebuilding the underneath of the rig. Money is an issue ( isnt it always !) but so too is availability. The local ARB agent advised they are out of front & rear springs, steering damper and castor correction kit. So thats basically 'no kit available' . I was curious about Pedders but there seems very little local feedback on their product , ride height, quality etc. Ran the rig over the weighbridge the other day as I've heard all sorts of figures quoted. Rear seats out... frame and draws in rear and fuelled up with no one on board... comes to 2286kg. I'm guessing I'll need at least med duty springs in the rear..but possibly hd ? I also contemplated the possibility of running one of the packers I already have along with the spring kit but not sure thats the way to go. Dobinsons was another brand I've been recommended so I've emailed them and hopefully will get some useful information. Curious about Pedders though if someone has given them a try ? rgds.. J.B.

I got all the parts for mine from Double Black Offroad. (Murchisons was out of stock at the time, but that was a few years ago now when I was pulling out the way-too-hard ARB kit the PO had installed.)
