Usually they last for many years, but you need to ensure that they are the right material. I can't recall but normal rubber and diesel don't play nice with each other.

Well this seller https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/17558903...item28e1ec1f56 mentions that this the MB part number I found in the all CRD post which is 6019970645.

And it states that it is for the 2.7 CDI (ML Model which is the same engine as the WG as far as I know).

Still the question is: how many do I need are 2 enough (1 in and 1 out or do I need more)? The Pack of 8 is 50 Dollar but if this would last till Year 3099 not sure if I then just go for the 6 pack.

From memory, I think there is 5 total - but don't quote me on that.

I always bought new O rings from a Benz dealer, straight off the shelf for a few bob each ................... best thing for these engines is fit a new fuel filter and O rings , divert the return hose from rack straight to the tank no need for it to go to tank via filter, can cause air leaks, once thats all done fit a CAV filter at back of firewall at least level or higher than OE, then you can change the CAV filter with no stuffing around priming and the OE filter will last forever and you can change the CAV filter often for little cost ....
Run a cleaner thru the system which should clean the gunk from injectors, and sensors, never try to use the engine to fuel prime, a fast way to destroy the HP pump... a bleed back test on the injectors will show up if any are stuffed, if so take it to a Bosch diesel shop, saves a lot of stuffing around........

Long time no post...

So, after driving the car in this horrible state for half of last year, I have finally gotten around to replacing the injector. I have ordered a replacement injector, bolt, copper washer and grease. Removed the old injector and it seems pretty charred up to me; this must be why the car was adding +5 to injector 3? I wonder if I can clean this injector and re-use it later?

The bore hole is pretty clean, but there's a bit of black stuff on the seat. I tried cleaning it out carefully with a thin wire brush but didn't have much luck. I'll attack it again tomorrow, after seeing if there's something I can get the gunk out with.

Typically, re-using injectors does not succeed. That said, I have an old set of injectors stored away, but only for emergency use - not for permanent replacement.
