Yep low range is the go and no problems with stalling, I can get in forwards ok, but I think that's aided by momentum more, it's just I'm not comfortable entering my garage at that speed backwards
And it will be worse when I lift it as there are marks on the brick rendering from the Patrols roof rack rubbers if I was not centered in the archway properly, I still got 5 inches clearance on the Jeep to lose

i cant believe you are struggling to drive a jeep into your garage without stalling.. and saying lo range is required!!

I guess it gives you Jk drivers a reason to use low range tho

i'd be careful using low range on a sealed driveway mate. in 4wd in a jk you have the front and rear axles locked . you can do damage to the transfer case or diff bearings through axle windup.. if you doubt what i'm saying ask a dealer or any 4wd machanic.

simsy any mud in the bellhousing? that would explain quite well why your clutch is fried.

Windup is only a problem if you are changing direction, in a straight line run of only 15m there is minimal windup created.
I would also have thought reverse gear should be lower than 1st so therefore easier.

Maybe you're right, I can't believe I can reverse a VN Commodore up the same driveway easier than a Jeep, is there some secret Jeep owners training I've missed?
