Now I don't know about you but I remove my plate as it is a PITA to drain anyway. A solid plate IMO would be a better option as there would be nothing to catch on.

I use a Fuimoto sump plug tap so super simple. I used to remove the plate too as it was so messy to do an oil change. Not any more.

One of my options is to buy the Murchison ones and get a 3rd made but it will work out way more than the quote I have been given. Might be the only way though...

I never had the 3rd to begin with and only ever run the two front bashies. I was thinking of increasing the size of the air vents with my hole saw to see if that makes any change. Before I ran any bash plates the temp gauge would not be affected by low speed off road stuff

Cheers slippery. Maybe the steel plate holds the heat more once warmed up by the engine.
I'll make sure there is some decent vents then. The Murchison plates have lots of small holes don't they? Maybe bigger slots might work.

I fitted the murchison/ARB front louvered plate to mine recently and it definatly dropped the temp during normal driving.

Useful feedback greenjk,
I fitted an ARB bar just before Christmas and have definitely noticed an increase in temperatures on the highway and low range wheeling. I may just drill/cut holes in the new front plate.. but its good to know the Murchinson replacement works… cheers

Just got back from having the grand measured up for the plates, the small front plate to protect the wiring loom and the PS hoses will be slotted for air flow, there will then be a engine plate and a seperate trans plate as well, need to wait for laser cutting and bending before a trail fit in a couple of weeks, I will try and get some pics and update this then.
