Default Few q's bout xj's

I've seen the odd aftermarket rear lights for the xj update, and maybe once seen some for the pre update , but can't seem to find out where to buy them ?

Also I've been told to go to rock auto or something similar to look for tubed grease able control arms , for the xj , but can't seem to find anything other than stock gear , not sure if I'm just not looking in the right area or wat ?

Also having a play with the pre update xj I'm getting on the road , has anyone tried putting update door trims and switches in a pre update ? Would they fit ? Would the switches be able to be made to work ?

Also on retrofitting , how hard would it be to get an update cluster to work in a pre update ? What drives the update cluster ?

Sorry for the newbie questions just thought someone on here might be able to answer them before I find out they can't be done or something like that haha

With enough effort anything is pretty much possible, the door trims would be the easier of the two options but would take some effort as the connectors are vastly different.
As for the cluster you'd have to change the entire dash, what's so interesting with the update cluster?

making it fit isn't really my main concern , obviously there would be a lot of trimming required for cluster change, as they are completely different shapes, but I'm more after all the lights and bits being in one place and freeing up the pre update light display bit for gauges haha , as for door cards might muck around and see what I can do

these the lights your after??
they are ok, they cant handle the heat from the globes and will melt and crack over time on the inside.

there is no fog light hole, and there is no orange section for the indicator so you have a red indicator, you also need to modify 1 or 2 of the plugs to go into the sockets, (think the indicator and reverse, I changed the plugs over cause I had spares).

these are quite old pics, I can get new ones to show you how they look after a few years.

have a look on US ebay

Are we talking OBD1 or OBD2?
