Perth man walks 60km, drinks from puddles, after jeep gets bogged in WA national park
just read this over the news
https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/austr...?ocid=msedgntp
A Perth university graduate says he is grateful to be alive after walking for two days through a remote Western Australian national park fearing he would never see his family again.
Lachlan Marie, 23, was travelling alone through Cape Arid, about 200 kilometres east of Esperance on the state's south coast, when his Jeep Cherokee got stuck in a mudflat on Sunday.

An EPIRB would have been handy. I don't know why remote travelers don't have one. They are minimal cost compared to the overall cost of the trip.,,,and they last for 10 years.

Lucky to be alive. Wonder how the car will be recovered.
Have seen all kinds of videos where convoys have become bogged on salt pans needing winching.
Edit: how the car was recovered. How the driver recovered.

University educated and still clueless. Still, it is an easy mistake to make.... a car with 4WD. What could go wrong?
A bit of beach and wet sand driving.... why?
Road tyres, no extra height, no other off road equipment or experience, no emergency rations or gear etc etc etc. A disaster and a death waiting to happen. Thank his lucky stars he walked away with his life....
And why go off road and on to a beach to see what's around Israelite bay, Cape Arid etc. It is all perfectly accessible by road or track that won't leave u looking like a muddied turkey!!!
Oh well.... good learning reference point for his future experiences.
Hope the car is ok as well... probably is. It's a Jeep don't you know.
