The steps from the jeepfabrication site, I talked to an aluminum place the other day and worked out that I could make them for about $60 if I do most of the prep and they weld.

They would be made from 6061 3mm plate and 2inch by 2 inch box section.

Would be even cheaper if I made them from checker plate, just I would have to grind away the area where the box section mounts.

Often Aluminum places have scrap from big jobs that are perfect for jobs on the jeep, and they will do the metal at half price to move it. And will help out heaps if they like your car.

im keen for fire trucks ones as every one seems to want a copy. so i got them from your link but i cant open them, what program do i need?? im not to good with computers. Also do u have a pic of them.
