My case is a bit convoluted.
I purchased a WARN 9.5 CTI-S in May 2015 and was installed on the JK upon it's arrival in August last year.
Everything worked fine until a couple of week ago when it just died a slow death. The motor got weaker and weaker, then died. I can hear the solenoid clicking when trying to operate it but the motor does not work.
The winch was purchased from Vic, SBR Offroad who in turn got it from ARB Wangara, then shipped it to Sydney.
I rang up the headoffice in Melbourne and was told to bring my JK to the closest ARB (Wenty) for the warranty.
That was done this morning but was met with a lot of resistance from Brad Kovacic, a checkout chic there. Long story short, I was turned down for the warranty. He gave me quite a mouthful and was rude, basically arguing with me on why it cannot be done. Extremely poor customer service. ( quite prevalent anyway, unfortunately) His reasoning was I bought it off Vic, a reseller and not a stockist. Why should it matter anyway? At the end of the day it came from ARB and only 8 months old.
I am in touch with ARB's product manager in Melbourne at the moment and he is still finding out what can be done to fix this issue. I will also follow this up with WARN USA in Oregon tomorrow morning.
It is quite unfortunate to spend $$$ on a trusted brand only to be let down by one of our own.
