There’s going to be a serious sports/SUV available in Australia just before Christmas with Jeep this morning confirming we would get the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

Claimed to be “the world’s most powerful and fastest SUV ever”, the sporty Jeep debuted at the New York Auto Show in April and Jeep tell us there’s been plenty of interest from prospective local buyers.

Jeep Australia boss, Steve Zanlunghi, says the Trackhawk will be a terrific addition to the local Grand Cherokee range. “Public interest in the Trackhawk has been incredible – barely a day goes by when I’m not asked if it’s coming. Now I can confirm it.”

“The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will be on sale in Australia in December.” Powered by a 527kW/874Nm 6.2 litre V8 engine, Jeep is promising a zero-100km/h sprint in just 3.6 seconds! While the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will also boast beefed-up sports suspension and Brembo brakes.
