Default Chinese Copy AEV Bars

I have been sold one of the Chinese Copy Bars in the past, luckly I complained to the dealer who took it back for a full refund and paid for it to be collected, No questions asked and after it was fitted to my vehicle for 9 months. I only found out after visiting a genuine AEV Dealer who told me it was a copy and when comparing the original to the copy you can see why. When I fitted the bar originally it would not fit and after lots of struggling I found the tube loop was welded into the bumper slightly lower on one side therefore had to cut it down and when fitted on my rig you could see the top of the tube was not horizontal with the bumper. The finish was also crap and was rusting, I think the winch plate may have been original as was finished/powder coated as it should be. I complained because of the bad fitting and poor quality and the main reason as being a copy would not comply with ADR Regulations.
Just seen this on Ebay which looks very similar to the one I returned, It's funny how it is advertised as a JK Bar and not as an AEV Bar. If it was advertised as AEV I'm sure there would be more bids. You can also see the difference in finish in the form of the winch plate and bumper.

AEV website indicating these copies.

Just want to make people aware and not be caught out like I was.

So buyer beware!!

Feel sorry for the poor tightarse who buys that bar, looks like a piece of poo!! I don't understand this cheap bar option, they all look terrible!! Fork out the extra dollars and get something that looks great and will protect you...

Just my two cents

I'm not sure about the bumper mentioned above but we've received complaints about Outdoor R Us selling both fake AEV bumpers and fake AEV snorkels.

Like other successful companies, many AEV products have been knocked off in China. The quality is very poor and we do consider it theft. IF anyone has questions regarding an AEV product, please contact our Australian Dealers which are JK Konnection, ProComp Aus, and Murchinson Products.

Thanks,

AEV
