Strange whining/resinating noise from WH Grand
Hi all,
I have a strange whining noise that comes from my WH when under load and mainly between 80 - 100 Kph.
I have only noticed it since having Stu's exhaust fitted.
It almost sounds like the tailshaft is out of balance, yet when it is making this noise, there is no vibration felt through the vehicle.
If you back off the pedal between 80 - 100 Kph and sit on a steady speed, you can't hear the noise.
Just wondering if anyone else out there has experienced this same sound?
Thanks in advance, Craig.

Thanks for your advice so far.

Ahh this is a easy one , first make sure the front left seat belt buckle is undone second open the left front door, and with two feet kick the mrs out. Problem solved. No more whining or resonating .
Try keep the speed to a slow crawl while doing this. Hahaha

I had whining noise coming from the rear at 80-100 km/h almost two years ago. It didn't happen while accelerating but when coasting at that speed on the freeway. Changed the rear diff fluid with redline, there was a bit of sludge, and noise was gone. I have also changed the diff fluid again a few weeks ago and there was no sludge whatsoever. It was just a precaution as it worries me sometimes with all those water crossings, can't help it .
