I never apply the handbrake in my garage, dead level surface, 'PARK' should be quite sufficient, every morning I open the drivers door, lean in & fire up the engine, open the garage door & finish my cup of tea, would'nt expect the Jeep to go anywhere until I pulled it into gear.......

Many of them may have been remote starts. A rather cool feature we aren't allowed to have over here.

Maybe the fault shifts the transfer case into neutral not the auto? In park the vehicle will still roll (see recreational towing in the manual) if the hand brake is not on.

To make sure that Jeep have your contact details ring 1800102277 make sure you have your VIN handy. If you actually get yours serviced by Jeep they will have your details.

Yes they do. They match the chassis numbers up to registration numbers and contact the owners. At least, thats what I was told by regarding CDJ when I rang them regarding the recall notice on my WG. I am the 4th owner.
