It sounds like that's what the guy on JeepForum was doing.
I've been trying to use the AutoEnginuity SCI adapter to hack my way in to do that (save and restore the firmware.)... with no luck so far (although without spending much time on it yet.). It's a long (long!) shot, since the modules are extremely complicated (especially without any public documentation.), but worth a try.

I had mine done at the N23 recall September 2013 went ok for a a few weeks probably because i used it in hi range When i tried to get it into low range it spat the dummy , took it back to dealer who declared that they had one or two with the same problem and they had a reflash fix for the problem. So far its been behaving . Cheers Porgey

They have admitted there's a problem and they've released a new procedure to fix it which I had done some weeks ago and all appears fine so far (touch wood). See my post(s) below. The people at Jeep Aus who are aware of this issue are Rob Lawson and Tracey Perkins. I have their email addresses at Jeep Aus if interested.

Hi Stulee
According to many of the guys on Jeep forum US there has been no update to fix the N23 problem!!There has only been a dealer memo to do the reflash to the letter. My Jeep tech told me that there has been no new software reflash out as yet, and I will be one of the first to hear about it,he has a number of customer WHs with no low 4x4.Regrettably I would not believe anything that any CF rep told me ,when we all get another CF recall letter stating they have a new software fix ,then I will believe them. This N23 debacle has been going on for near 8 months and it isnt finished yet!!!!

This is really sad what you guys are going through, as if you have spare time to stuff around like this. I hope it gets sorted soon. I'm glad I've been holding off! Would've been spewing also.

Default F'd Up Again

Yep, it f'd up again. Not even a week

Had to use Low 4 to get a trailer out of a muddy site last Friday and it engaged and disengaged Low 4 without a problem. Went away on the weekend......no problem.
Jump in the Jeep this morning and 'Service 4WD System' came up......and no f*#@ing Low 4.
WTF?????? Where to from here.
The thickheads at my local Jeep service centre want to put a new transfer case in if it happened again, and claim that the Jeep Forum members are full of shit when I tried to tell them the experiences that others have had.

Yes, I'm pissed off..........

Any ideas??

Cheers, Craig

Check out my Ride(s)
Unhappy No Cure

Revert it back, at the moment there is no cure

Don't worry about the service centre, you can see some of the issues I had with my local one in previous posts (coil packs on a diesel )
I actually had to hand them the star case bulletin & direct them to contact CDJF as they were reluctant to do so.

There are some service tech's that know the issue well but as you can understand they have to be careful with what the publicly say
