A new FDCM doesn't come with pre installed software, when I went to order one from the states a footnote said has to be programed by a dealer .
So you will get the N23 version, not the pre update version.
For your sake I hope your right & its a problem when the update overwrites the old software.
Good luck

Default The dreaded N23 Unfix again

I had the N23 done to my 09 WH in November 2013 since then have had 3 reflashes, a few weeks ago the dealer told me they would fix it by renewing the Actuator, under extended warranty I reluctantly agreed The dealer phoned Monday morning to tell me the good news the actuator had arrived 9 am this morning the jeep went into the dealers I picked it up at 3 15pm ,guess what ? no actuator. Jeep had renigged on the deal . Apologies from the service department but no fix . The car has just ticked over 51,000ks and I was preparing for a 4 month trip up North towing a caravan , Shame on you Jeep The car is soo comfortable to drive but without the back up of low range the vehicle is usless off the tar . Cheers George

Default Warranties

Did they give you the option of fitting the actuator at your cost?

Don't let the low range issue stop you from your trip, practice the rest options in this post & you will be fine

hotqld,
The service manager asked me at first if i minded paying $ 800 for the actuator job but when i told him i was on an extended warranty he said he would check to see if they would pay after a couple of weeks he phoned and said yes it was ok to go ahead with the warranty. Then he booked it in for today, what peed me off was he kept the car for several hours knowing he wasn't going ahead with the job. Cheers George

George I'm in the same situation I'm heading off on a carvanning trip through western Qld and up to the gulf tomorrow without low range ...not going to do anything about it until Jeep sort the problem. I've found these vehicles are very capable off road in high range..went to Fraser last October without low range had the N23 performed before the trip and there were no actuators in Oz, had it fitted late November. I've always used 2nd high on sand haven't bogged the vehicle yet these diesels have a lot of torque. I'm not concerned about the absence of low range...enjoy your trip

This is the third dealer I know of who has told owners that FC HO has told them no more actuators to be fitted!!Trips away really depend on what you will be doing, whether you have Quadratrac or quadradrive system, and which bullshit fix helps you get going,My 4th reflash failed going up a steep shingle track.Getting under to remove actuator plug etc wasnt much fun.We do a lot of sapphire and gold fossicking,we use 4x4 low,oh for a lever like the mighty XJ .
