Chrispy,

Goods news but Its old news now. The area that concerns 4x4 drivers isn't really that big, do not tresspass signs only have to be A4 size, not a huge cost in comparrison to the fencing bill. but I still wouldn't want them to fence it, nor would I want to pay for it . eitherway.

Well it sounds like their only fencing the quarry anyway. From others I have heard that the owners are not closing the entire area off partially due to what Chrispy has written but more to do with the legal liabilities of if someone enters whilst it is fenced off and gets injured etc. outweighing fencing it off altogether. Its open so lets be happy.
